Compost Bin Plan

Composting is an effective way of cutting down the costs of gardening what with growing economic crisis. Composting is very essential for plants, as it increases the crop yields and alleviates the need to purchase artificial fertilizers.

There are many methods of building a compost bin but basically proper planning is necessary to build a compost bin. Fundamentally, the plan and design of the compost bin depends upon the amount of material that has to be composted. When yard trimmings like old leaves, grass clippings and other plants are added to the compost bin, they reduce the amount of waste that goes to the landfill.

There are various ways of planning the compost bin. It can simply be piled in the corner of the garden and let to be composted, naturally. Another easier method is to buy a compost bin from the shop directly and is a straight forward method. A compost bin that is very large also serves the purpose.

People who are a little industrious, can build a compost bin on their own, through some simple pallets or square framed structure. Another plan is to make a two section configuration of the bin where the first section contains the newest material that decomposes over time and when it has composted, can be moved to the second bin so that more and more material can be added upon.

If you can afford a little more, compost tumblers are ideal that basically consists of a drum like design. As the process of composting progresses, the tumbler can be turned to separate the finished product.
