Urban Composters

Gardening is a good and useful pastime for many people and the desire for gardening will not be dampened, even if people live in a limited space in urban areas. Composting is an essential part of gardening and where the space is limited; it is a matter of concern.

But, there are urban composters that are compact and not a sore to the eye. They are available in a number of different styles, ranging from the simple ones that are placed on the ground and can be rolled to very large composters that are placed on a frame.

But, the most widely used urban composter is the center axle mounted type of composter which is cost efficient and easy to use. In this method, there is a drum mounted on a small frame, with the axle running through the center of the drum. This helps to flip around.

Urban composters are very effective in keeping away rodents and pests and can make compost rapidly, say, two to three weeks which is a record time. It is also feasible to add an activator to the contents, to give it the best possible start. It is very easy to turn the pile and simply rotate the drum and when the compost is done, it can be slid to one end.

Some of the urban composters may have doors on both ends that make it easier to load and unload the unit. Urban composters give a tidy look and do a great job of making compost. The prices are quite low and it is easy to assemble the parts of urban composters.
