Compost Barrels
Compost barrels work on the simple principle of adding organic material on a regular basis and get rich compost, as an end result. Since compost barrels are sealed containers, they are free from pests or a rodent which is a very convenient factor to support buying a compost barrel.
There is another advantage, the compost barrel can be turned using a handle which regularly chops the contents of the barrel, keeping them activated at an optimum temperature. This ensures that all the contents of the composting barrel are decomposed at the same speed. Therefore, with a compost barrel, it is feasible to compost within a short span of time, in as less as two weeks time.
Compost barrels have a base to make rotation easier .Some of the compost barrels have rollers to roll it on the ground, to spot in the garden for loading or unloading. Some of the compost barrels may also have flat sides so that they stay where they are placed. Compost barrels are also designed to have internal baffles in the drum which enhances the mixing action of the drum.
When the compost material is turned, it certainly speeds up the process. Compost tumbler is one such barrel which is the most expensive of all compost tumblers but has a large capacity and is very easy to use. To get the optimum results, it must be ensured that the compost material is filled up to the edges and kept moist always and it must be easy to get the end product of compost, when it is done.
