Drum Composter
Composting is a very good way of going greener and the amount of space available is immaterial; only if a person has the wish to compost. Even simple materials like kitchen waste can be converted into compost and there are many varieties of compost bins that are sold in the market and the processes vary, according to the compost bin being used.
But of all methods, so far, drum composters are found to be the best, due to more than one reason. Composting materials need air during the process and hence when they are rotated frequently, the composting materials are composted at a faster pace. To achieve this, drum composters have handles so that they can be rotated easily and thereby, increase the oxygen and decomposition rates.
When composting materials are placed into the drum composter, it traps the heat which accelerates the process of decomposition. When the compost is done, it can be removed through the output drum by rotating and the resultant is rich, dark, compost for the plants.
Some of the primitive models of the drum composter face the problem of batch nature, in the sense, more and more composting materials are added on top of the drum and the contents do not compost evenly, through out.
Hence, the evolution of a drum inside the drum came that enables a person to remove the compost as and when needed, while the process of composting still goes on. Drum composters help to reduce the trash by more than 25 percent and is a great contributing factor to make the planet greener.
